Off Hand Tattoo is a culmination of a combined 38 years of dedication, hard work, sacrifice and experience tattooing all over the country, manifesting itself on the corner of the cobblestoned Wharf Street in Portland, Maine. The legend of The Red Hand of Uslar rings true at Off Hand Tattoo; laying stake onto a land that is undeveloped and unseen to the naked eye as an opportunity to grow something great. With a void of traditional style walk-in tattoo shops in the Portland tattoo scene, Doug Landry and Adam Gray saw an opportunity to lay stake to something new and exciting but pay homage to the old traditions of tattooing at the same time. Off Hand Tattoo opened in June of 2025 at 2 Wharf Steet in the heart of the Old Port. Walk-in tattoos are accepted all day at a fair price ($100 minimum) made by tattooers who are happy to make a tattoo for you and speak about the history of Portland and the tattoo scene that isn’t always spoken of.
